Geek Comedy Improv Doubleheader on March 15th!

Fresh off the heels of fantastic performances at the Emerald City Comicon, two of Seattle’s geekiest improv groups join forces for a one-night-only theatrical experience at Seattle’s Jewel Box Theatre!

SET’s own hit improvised Star Trek parody Where No Man Has Gone Before joins forces with improv tour de force NERDprov for an evening of geeky hilarity.

Adventure! Beautiful women! Exotic alien worlds! Where No Man Has Gone Before is a fully improvised parody of the original Star Trek TV series. Each night the cast will use suggestions from the audience to create the world and plot of the show. Where No Man Has Gone Before was featured at the Hawaii Improv Festival, and at Emerald City Comi-Con.

NERDprov
NERDprov crosses the streams of geek culture and comedic improvisation, causing total protonic reversal, as well as an amazing show! Our audiences get to shout out their favorite geeky references, shows, movies, comics, music and games, and watch us bring them to life on stage! NERDprov began as part of the Emerald City Comicon in 2009, and has since performed at several cons, independant shows, and with Seattle Theatresports, along with special guest stars such as The Guild, LoadingReadyRun, Ian Boothby, Kris Straub, and more!

SEATTLE, January 22 2013 – Seattle Experimental Theater is proud to announce that their hit improvised parody of the original Star Trek TV series, “Where No Man Has Gone Before”, will be performing at Emerald City Comicon (ECCC) in March 2013.

Performances will take place on Saturday March 2nd and Sunday March 3rd at 12PM in Room 2AB of the Washington State Convention Center, and are open to all badged attendees of ECCC (space permitting). As always, the show is fully improvised – suggestions from the audience will determine the nature of the alien planet Kirk and crew must explore.

Seattle Experimental Theater presents its original unscripted comedy “Where No Man Has Gone Before”, a fully improvised parody of the original Star Trek TV series. Our cast will use suggestions from the audience to create a new alien planet for Captain Kirk and his crew to discover – the only certainty is that danger and hilarity await. “Where No Man Has Gone Before” has performed to sold-out houses in Seattle since June 2011 and is appropriate for all ages.

NOVEMBER’S EPISODES:
Our “Space Sickness” episode format (debuted in May 2012). Watch as the crew of the Enterprise is infected with a strange space madness, created from audience suggestions. The plot of every show is created on the spot, and no two shows are the same.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
Where No Man Has Gone Before is an improvised parody of the original Star Trek television series. Each night the cast will use suggestions from the audience to create the world and plot of the show.

Where No Man Has Gone Before has met with widespread praise, and was an official selection of the Seattle Festival of Improv Theater 2012 and Improvaganza Hawaii Festival of Improv 2012. The show debuted to sold-out crowds in June 2011 and has been returning by popular demand ever since.

This show is recommended for adults and children ages 6 and up. Running time is approximately 70 minutes with one intermission.

Seattle Experimental Theater’s hit improvised parody of original Star Trek, Where No Man Has Gone Before, is returning for four more performances of its “Space Sickness” format, Thursdays and Fridays at 8PM from November 8-16, 2012.

These will be our LAST performances in 2012. Catch us before we go on shore leave for the 1st half of 2013!

“The Journal” tickets now on sale!

Tickets are now available online for the world premiere of Seattle Experimental Theater’s new original production “The Journal”. One weekend only – July 27 at 8PM, July 28 at 2PM and 8PM, and July 29 at 2PM. (SET is happy to offer two matinee performances for the first time in our history!) All performances take place at the Odd Duck Studio in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
